Wehkamp opens a new Tech Hub to integrate innovations and new technology even faster into its website and app. In this way, the company aims to offer customers a more inspiring and personalized shopping experience in the coming years. And they give a better interpretation to the chosen strategy to offer customers a more relevant assortment at the right time. The Wehkamp Tech Hub will provide space (and work) for about 130 technicians who are involved in, among other things, algorithms, new technology and data.
In recent years, Wehkamp has invested significantly in a robust, stable and scalable platform. By using cloud migration, micro-services and data science, among other things, Wehkamp can respond quickly to new developments and trends. More than 600,000 customers visit the Wehkamp website and app every day, so that the company knows exactly what is needed.
2.9 million personal shops

The Wehkamp Tech Hub is an innovative working environment that will help us enormously to achieve this. A place where experimentation and innovation can take place. We want to expand considerably with new tech talent, which we want to offer an inspiring and challenging working environment in our Wehkamp Tech Hub together with our current colleagues.”
Working at the Tech Hub means working in an innovative and inspiring tech working environment. In the new head office, which will be occupied in November, the Wehkamp Tech Hub will have its own environment with plenty of room for collaboration, learning from each other and presenting results. In addition, a lot of work will be done from home, supported by a digital Wehkamp Tech Hub environment. The team, which currently consists of more than 100 colleagues, has room for at least 20 new tech talents.
Wehkamp believes in smartly combining fashion and lifestyle with online technology and the best online shopping experience, in order to provide a relevant and inspiring platform to its customers and partners. About 75% of customers now shop via mobile, mainly via the app. The use of technology is not only crucial during shopping, the logistics process is also driven by technological innovations and processes. This allows Wehkamp to offer its customers a particularly fast and reliable delivery, which is also sustainable due to the use of tailor-made packages, which means that more packages can be transported in the same space.
